What types of drinking glasses are there?

There are lots of types of drinking glasses that can be used for different tipples. We have your everyday styles like tumblers, which are sturdy and come with textured finishes and colour-pop rims. For red or white wine, choose a classic shape or go for a modern stemless silhouette. Champagne saucers and prosecco flutes are ready for toasting a special occasion, while highball glasses are ideal for cocktail hour.

What are the standard drinking glass sizes?

The sizes for drinking glasses vary depending on the type of glassware and the design. Tumblers are short and wide, while highballs are tall and slim. Both can hold anything from around 240ml to 350ml of liquid, with 250ml often referenced as a standard glass measurement. When drinking wine, a formal measure is 125ml, 175ml or 250ml. Red wine glasses are larger as the wine needs to breathe more. Champagne flutes have a fairly standard size and can hold between 180ml and 300ml of fizz, while a coupe holds a bit more due to its wider shape.
